Fears of Extensive Military Operations in Sana’a, Yemen’s Crisis to Referral to UN Security Council
Local citizens in Al-Hassaba neighborhood in the Yemeni capital Sana’a said on Monday that loyalist military units to Ali Abdullah Saleh, the Yemeni President, asked them to evacuate their homes, in harmony with massive military reinofrcements and locatings of snipers and military vehicles.
The military movements in the surrounding areas of Al-Hassaba is a sign of near extensive military operations against Sadiq Al-Ahmmar, the promenint tribal leader and his followers who have taken Al-Hassaba area as a stronghold.
Eyewitness said to Aden Online that units of the Republican Guards and the Central Security Forces were deployed in Al-Thoura Garden. and among the evacuated state buildings is a post office in the vinicity to the Al-Hassaba Neighborhood.
Fears have been increasing of military confontrations in the capital between Sadiq Al-Ahmmar’s followers and the government forces.
These military developments come just after the departure of Jamal Bin Omar, the UN Secretary General Special Envoy to Yemen.
On the other hand, a source at the office of the Yemeni Vice President, Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi, said to the BBC there are French – American – British, by the acceptance of the Arab Gulf Countries, for the referral of Yemen’s crisis to the UN Security Council to implement the Gulf initiative in accordance with Chapter VII of the UN.
