Yemeni Army Kills 15 Al Qaeda Operatives
Fifteen of al Qaeda operatives were killed when Yemeni forces shelled a gathering of them in the southern Yemeni city of Zanjibar Thursday.
Military sources said to Aden Online that the 25th Mechanized Brigade bombed a gathering of the al Qaeda suspects in the northeastern outskirts of Zanjibar; in Hassan Valley, while they were having breakfast.
The sources indicated that the al Qaeda suspects are still occupying the city, but units of the Yemeni army have been located in the eastern outskirts of it.
Sources in the neighboring district of Ja’ar confirmed the arrival of a number of bodies to the graveyard of the district, where al Qaeda suspects used to bury their dead.
Units obedient to the Yemeni President, Ali Abdullah Saleh, and others declared their support the Yemeni revolution together fight the al Qaeda suspects, who took over the southern Yemeni province of Abyan last May.
